It is with this in mind that Flow Public Relations was recently established. Flow PR, like Flow Communications, is founded on values of integrity, reliability and transparency.
At the helm of this new entity is public relations and reputation management expert Shoni Makhari, who has had a working relationship with Flow for a number of years.
Flow Communications CEO Tara Turkington says moving into public relations is a natural step: “So many of our clients have been making PR-related enquiries and Flow has many crossover skills.
“Shoni is one of the best PR practitioners in South Africa. He is passionate, experienced, knowledgeable and talented, and we look forward to working with him in building Flow PR in 2011 and beyond,” says Tara.
Shoni emphasises that the aim of the new business venture is to make Flow a one-stop shop for clients: “The decision to start Flow PR was born of the desire to make a difference in the way public relations is practised and perceived in South Africa.”
What differentiates Flow’s latest venture from other PR companies? “There is synergy between the workflows of Flow Communications and Flow PR, making for cutting-edge creativity and ideas that will set Flow PR apart from its competitors,” Shoni says.
“While other forms of communication are great at informing and creating awareness, public relations has one other essential element, and that is to create brands and manage reputations,” he adds.
What are Shoni’s hopes for Flow PR? “We want to work with the best brands. We want to be leaders in the industry and attract the best talent in the country. Most of all, we want to be a main point of reference for brand architecture both in the country and abroad.”
