Madikwe, located up on South Africa’s northern border with Botswana in the North West province, is one of my favourite reserves. There’s something about the clarity of the light, the redness of the earth, the intensity of both sun and shadows, that make the spectacular setting and abundant wildlife even more photogenic. It’s hard to take a bad picture in Madikwe. It’s also a place that will make you lust for new lenses.

Flow is lucky enough to have a wonderful and long-standing client, Jaci’s Lodges – two beautiful yet friendly and relaxed lodges, Jaci’s Safari Lodge and Jaci’s Tree Lodge – located alongside one another in the south-eastern corner of the reserve.

I’ve been lucky enough to stay at Jaci’s many times, and every time I go, I love Madikwe – and Jaci’s Lodges – even more. Here are some pictures from my latest trip earlier this month.
